Head Working Group Cardiac MRI
Charité/ University Medicine Berlin and Helios
Berlin, Berlin, Germany
Professor Jeanette Schulz-Menger is a cardiologist specializing in Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR), active in the field since 1996. She holds a University Professorship in Cardiology (“Noninvasive Imaging with a focus on CMR”) and leads one of Europe’s few high-throughput CMR centers, equipped with a dedicated clinical scanner at Helios Clinic Berlin and advanced research scanners, including 3T and 7T, at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin.
Her group established a research outpatient clinic focusing on cardiomyopathies, inflammatory, and rare diseases, bridging clinical care with translational imaging research. She is strongly engaged in CMR education, having founded a structured teaching program, and has published more than 300 peer-reviewed papers, book chapters, and reviews. She was the lead author of the recently published ESC Guidelines on Myocarditis and Pericarditis.
Originally from Berlin, she combines her professional passion for CMR with personal interests in theatre, literature, skiing, and spending time with friends and family.
