Dr. Ian Paterson is professor of medicine in the division of cardiology at the Univeristy of Ottawa Heart Insitute.
He completed training in cardiology and echocardiography at McGill University and subsequently completed a fellowship in cardiac MRI at the National Institutes of Health in 2004.
He worked at the University of Alberta until 2022, where he co-founded the cardio-oncology program in 2010 and cardiac amyloidosis program in 2019.
He relocated to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute in 2022 and holds leadership positions in cardiac imaging and rare cardiac conditions.
His research interests include image-based characterization of cardiomyopathy and heart faliure as well as strategies to mitigate cardiovascular risk in patients with cancer.
