My research is dedicated to enhancing and improving the diagnosis of
congenital heart disease (CHD) in foetuses and neonates through advanced
foetal and neonatal cardiac MRI, with the ultimate goal of improving patient
outcomes. I am particularly motivated by the potential for cardiac MRI to reduce
diagnostic uncertainty in the antenatal and neonatal periods, supporting earlier
and more accurate clinical decision-making.
Within this, I have a particular interest in 4D Flow MRI, exploring its role in
characterising neonatal and fetal cardiovascular haemodynamics and how it
can complement existing diagnostic pathways.
Alongside this central aim, my work also involves the development and external
validation of clinical prediction models, ensuring that findings are robust,
generalisable, and ready for translation into clinical practice. By combining
imaging innovations with predictive modelling, my research aspires to deliver
tools that are both scientifically rigorous and clinically meaningful.
