Anja Hennemuth has been working as a professor at the Institute for Computational and Imaging Science in Cardiovascular Medicine of the Charité and at the Technical University of Berlin since 2017. She has completed an apprenticeship as a scientific programmer and studied computer science with a minor in medicine. During her scientific education, Ms. Hennemuth has worked in various research institutions such as the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and Philips Research Laboratories in the field of fluid dynamics and model-based segmentation. From 2003 to 2008, she worked at MeVis Research as a research assistant in image-based liver surgery planning and cardiovascular image analysis. Since 2009, she has been heading the cardiovascular research and development at the Fraunhofer Institute for Medical Image Computing and has also been member of the management board since 2016. Within the frame of research and industrial collaborations, her group has developed software solutions for cardiovascular image analysis and image-based modelling that are used in clinical research and diagnosis.
