Ahmad Younis, MD, is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Heart, Vascular and Thoracic Institute at Cleveland Clinic, working in the Cardiovascular Innovation Research Center with a focus on advanced cardiac magnetic resonance imaging. He completed his medical degree at the University of Jordan Faculty of Medicine in 2024, where he developed an early interest in cardiovascular medicine and clinical research.
Dr Younis’s research centers on using cardiac MRI to improve risk stratification and guide management in nonischemic cardiomyopathy and valvular heart disease. His ongoing projects examine the prognostic value of left atrial remodeling, functional mitral regurgitation, and myocardial fibrosis, as well as the role of T1 mapping and ventricular strain in predicting heart failure events, arrhythmic risk, and response to device therapy. He is also interested in integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning with CMR-based phenotyping to refine patient selection for advanced therapies.
He has presented his work at major international cardiovascular conferences, including the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, and the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation. His long-term goal is to pursue a career as an academic cardiologist.
