Sofía Martínez is a medical graduate from Universidad Vasco de Quiroga (UVAQ), Class of 2024. She has developed a strong academic foundation supported by clinical experience in major public health institutions, including the Hospital General Regional No. 1 and the Hospital General “Dr. Miguel Silva” in Morelia. Throughout her training, she has been recognized for her professionalism, strong work ethic, and commitment to delivering patient-centered care.
Her academic interests led her to pursue research early in her career, with a particular focus on cardiovascular imaging and hemodynamics. She is the lead author of the study “Effects of a Single Hemodialysis Session on Diastolic Function Assessed by Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease.” This project allowed her to develop skills in scientific methodology, data interpretation, imaging-based analysis, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The study also deepened her understanding of the complex interaction between renal disease, fluid management, and cardiac performance.
Sofía is highly motivated by opportunities to expand her scientific competencies and contribute meaningfully to clinical knowledge. She excels in teamwork, critical thinking, adaptability, leadership, and clear communication—skills that have supported her academic progress and her integration into diverse clinical environments. She is also dedicated to ongoing professional development through participation in courses, workshops, and hands-on training in advanced diagnostic modalities.
This conference marks her first international academic presentation. She is enthusiastic about the opportunity to share her research findings with the global cardiovascular imaging community, learn from leaders in the field, and deepen her understanding of emerging trends in cardiac magnetic resonance. Participating in this event represents an important step in her academic growth and her commitment to contributing to high-quality, evidence-based medical practice.
