Dr Sonya Babu-Narayan is a Clinical Reader in adult congenital heart disease at Imperial College, Royal Brompton Hospital. She is also associate medical director at the British Heart Foundation. She was previously awarded a First Class Honours BSc in Neuroscience, a MB BS from University College London, a PhD in congenital heart disease from Imperial College London and received an AHA Outstanding Contribution to Paediatric Research award. She trained in congenital heart disease at Royal Brompton and Great Ormond Street hospitals. She delivers competitively funded research including related to heart failure and arrhythmia outcomes in ACHD. She has served 15 years as a local research ethics committee member, was associate editor for JCMR (2013-17), is associate editor at Heart (2018-23) and was the inaugural elected UK British Congenital Cardiac Association Scientific Officer (2015-21).
