Prof. dr. Hildo J. Lamb, MD, PhD (1969) is professor of radiology and radiologist at the Leiden University Medical Center, The Netherlands. Clinical focus is on cardiovascular and thoracic radiology, as well as general radiology.
He is actively involved in scientific research in the field of non-invasive cardiovascular and body imaging. His main focus is on development of cardiovascular multi-energy CT and MR imaging techniques with fast conversion to clinical application, including 3D imaging, fast acquisition techniques and MR spectroscopy. His main focus is currently on diseases related to obesity and diabetes mellitus. He was study director of 2 ongoing triple-blind randomised trials. He published over 400 peer reviewed scientific papers. He serves as consultant for Royal Philips, The Netherlands, with focus on clinical integration of AI and developing tools for medical communication.
He is chairman of the scientific committee of the Department of Radiology LUMC, Leiden, The Netherlands. He is involved in the medical training program of medical students at Leiden University. He is deputy editor of cardiovascular imaging for J Magn Reson Imag (JMRI). He is currently board member of the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR). He was board member of the Dutch society for radiology (Science and European affairs), board member of the Dutch section for cardiovascular radiology. He is Dutch representative in the UEMS (European Union of Medical Specialists) section Radiology and member of the scientific board of the ESR. He is member of the scientific program committee for RSNA, ISMRM, and ESCR.
