Dr. Coelho-Filho is a cardiologist with widespread interest in heart failure and cardiovascular imaging modalities. Presently, Dr. Coelho-Filho holds the Associate Professor of Cardiology position within the Department of Medicine at the School of Medical Sciences at the University of Campinas – UNICAMP, located in Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil. He graduated in Medicine from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas. He completed his imaging training in Cardiac MRI and CT at Instituto do Coração InCor – FMUSP and subsequently completed a 3-year research fellowship in Cardiovascular Imaging at Brigham and Women's Hospital-Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA. He also graduated from the Harvard School of Public Health, obtaining a "Master in Public Health" (MPH) degree from the Harvard School of Public Health, Boston, USA, and in 2013, in Brazil, he obtained his Ph.D. in Cardiovascular Medicine from the State University of Campinas.
Dr. Coelho-Filho has contributed to more than 120 original articles in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, mainly about Cardiovascular Disease and Imaging. He also shares his expertise on the editorial teams for two major medical journals and as a manuscript reviewer for more than 15 medical journals. He is currently a section editor of the AHA Circulation Imaging Journal. He also sits on prestigious national and international scientific committees, including the São Paulo Society of Cardiology (SOCESP), SBC, and SCMR.
