Tania Ruiz Maya, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine’s Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). She received her Medical Degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, and completed her Internal Medicine residency at New York University Langone Medical Center. She subsequently completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital-Elmhurst Hospital, and an advanced fellowship in Cardiovascular Imaging at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center-Weill Cornell Medicine - NY Presbyterian Hospital. Her research and clinical interests include the role of multimodality imaging in the diagnosis and treatment of systemic inflammatory disease, inflammatory cardiomyopathies and cardiovascular sports performance/sports cardiology. She is the founder of the Cardio-Rheumatology clinic under the umbrella of the Women's Heart Center at VUMC. She is an active member of the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, American Society of Echocardiography, Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance.
