Highly dedicated medical professional whose trajectory highlights a commitment to diagnostic excellence, particularly within the challenging domain of advanced cardiovascular imaging.
Foundational Medical and Specialty Training
Dra. Matheus established her comprehensive medical foundation in Venezuela, where she successfully completed her training as a Médico Cirujano (Medical Doctor). This distinction was conferred by the Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV), graduating from the prestigious José María Vargas School of Medicine. This rigorous initial phase instilled a deep understanding of general medicine and surgical principles.
Driven by an interest in high-resolution, non-invasive diagnostics, Dra. Matheus proceeded to specialize in Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging. She completed her specialized medical residency at the Centro Médico Docente La Trinidad in Caracas, Venezuela. Her training in radiology provided her with the critical skills required to interpret a wide spectrum of imaging modalities, setting the stage for subsequent subspecialization.
Current Focus: Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Expertise
In recognition of the rapid advancements in cardiac diagnostics, Dra. Matheus has strategically focused her ongoing professional development on the interface between radiology and cardiology. She is currently completing the specialized Diploma in Cardiac Angiotomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) at the renowned Grupo CT Scanner in Mexico City.
This intensive postgraduate curriculum is equipping Dra. Matheus with advanced proficiency in the acquisition, interpretation, and reporting of cardiovascular MR and CT studies. These modalities are increasingly indispensable for comprehensive patient care, offering unparalleled anatomical detail and functional assessment.
Dra. Matheus's dedication to mastering these complex imaging techniques demonstrates a proactive approach to adopting state-of-the-art diagnostic protocols. Her work focuses on leveraging these tools to refine the non-invasive assessment of myocardial viability, congenital heart disease, and complex coronary artery disease.
Contribution to Diagnostic Advancement
Dra. Matheus's attendance at this leading Cardiovascular Congress in Rio de Janeiro underscores her professional commitment to continuous learning, international collaboration, and the effective translation of advanced imaging knowledge into clinical practice. She aims to apply her expertise to facilitate more precise and timely diagnoses, thereby contributing to improved patient outcomes and fostering better collaboration among interventionalists, cardiologists, and imaging specialists.
