Rithvik Gunda is a Research Fellow at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and a medical student at Texas A&M College of Medicine, with a strong academic focus on congenital heart disease, cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging, and surgical innovation.
Rithvik collaborates with clinicians and imaging scientists at Children’s Medical Center Dallas and UT Southwestern, contributing to multi-disciplinary projects on Fontan physiology, ventricular remodeling, advanced CMR biomarker development, and surgical outcome modeling. His broader interests span congenital cardiac surgery, imaging-based prognostication, and translational research that bridges clinical imaging, physiology, and surgical decision-making. He aims to pursue a career as an academic clinician specializing in congenital cardiac imaging and reconstructive surgical approaches, integrating imaging, physiology, and patient-centered innovation to improve long-term outcomes in complex congenital heart disease. Outside of research, Rithvik is actively engaged in medical education and peer mentorship.
