Edgar Alejandro Sáenz Ordóñez, MD, is a physician from Chihuahua, Mexico, currently completing his residency in Cardiology at the Instituto Nacional de Cardiología Ignacio Chávez, one of the leading cardiovascular centers in Latin America. He earned his medical degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua with honors and subsequently completed his internship and social service at high-complexity institutions, including the IMSS and the State Health Services of Chihuahua.
Dr. Sáenz Ordóñez has developed a strong academic and clinical interest in cardiovascular imaging and interventional cardiology, fields in which he continues to expand his training through national and international congresses, master classes, and specialized courses. He is an active member of the Sociedad Mexicana de Cardiología and has participated in advanced cardiovascular life support certifications, research methodology programs, and English proficiency training.
He has contributed to medical education as an instructor in cardiology and embryology for undergraduate medical programs, supporting the formation of future physicians through both theoretical and clinical teaching. His academic activity also includes participation in multiple certified congresses and scientific sessions in Mexico, Colombia, and other international venues.
Dr. Sáenz Ordóñez has presented original clinical research at regional and international cardiology congresses, including the Inter-American Society of Cardiology (SIAC). His work has focused on structural heart disease, heart failure, and unusual congenital or acquired cardiovascular conditions, contributing case reports such as long-term outcomes in Ebstein anomaly and rare presentations of atrial myxoma.
He has received several recognitions for academic excellence throughout his medical training, including honorary mentions, top-performance awards, and distinctions for his participation in scientific research and community health activities.
Currently, Dr. Sáenz Ordóñez continues to develop in the areas of cardiovascular imaging, interventional cardiology, and clinical research, aiming to integrate high-quality academic work with evidence-based, patient-centered cardiovascular care.
