Shay (Xuhan) Liu is a PhD candidate in Clinical Medicine (Cardiology) at West China Hospital, Sichuan University. Her research focuses on pulmonary hypertension, rare cardiovascular diseases, and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR), with a particular interest in imaging biomarkers and right ventricular remodeling.
She completed her medical training and cardiology residency at the First Hospital of Jilin University, where she gained comprehensive clinical experience across heart failure, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, and pulmonary vascular disease. She later served as a Chief Resident in the Department of Cardiology at West China Hospital, contributing to patient care coordination, clinical teaching, and multidisciplinary decision-making. Her Emergency Medicine rotation further strengthened her skills in managing acute cardiovascular emergencies.
Shay has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, Journal of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, and Medicine (Baltimore). She is skilled in CMR acquisition and analysis (T1/T2 mapping, LGE, feature tracking), quantitative imaging research, and statistical analysis using R and Python.
Her work aims to integrate advanced cardiac imaging with clinical phenotyping to improve diagnosis and risk stratification in pulmonary hypertension and other complex cardiovascular diseases.
