PhD

Lausanne, Vaud, Switzerland
Since 2022, I am working as a PhD student jointly with the CHUV in Lausanne and the IHU Liryc in Bordeaux. I am interested in cardiac MRI and more precisely in improving the visualization of cardiac scars in patients with implanted cardiac devices (pacemakers and defibrillators). I am mainly developing innovative MRI sequences and tools to remove artifacts related to metallic objects, while visualizing infarct scars with unprecedented contrast. This will give access to cardiac MRI to all patients with implanted cardiac devices, to have more confident diagnoses, better patient care.
Between 2020 and 2022, I was a PhD student in the field of neuroscience in the department of health sciences and technology at ETH Zürich and the Spinal Cord Injury Center Balgrist. For that PhD I worked with big datasets of patients undergoing different physio-therapies for the rehabilitation of locomotor function after spinal cord injury. Using motion analysis (Vicon Nexus in a motion lab), I developed different algorithms to objectively understand locomotor disorders at the patient level in order to create a patient-specific personalized therapy to improve walking function. I also applied machine learning tools to understand what are the key locomotor parameters important in gait function. This study allowed me to understand what are the main gait parameters (such as knee flexion-extension) to improve walking function with a personalized therapy. I finally performed magnetic resonance spectroscopy simultaneously in the brain and spinal cord at the level of the lesion to better understand the patterns involved in the responses to different locomotion treatment therapies.
In 2020, I graduated in physics at ETH Zürich. For my master thesis project, I worked at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) in Switzerland, at the Center for Proton Therapy (CPT). I was interested in finding the best strategy for the treatment of moving tumors, such as lung or liver tumors, by proton therapy.
In 2018, I completed my Bachelor degree in Physics at the University of Fribourg.
