Julia Visch is a PhD student in the Department of Cardiology and Physiology. Her research focuses on vascular function in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), with a special interest in advanced CMR imaging techniques such as quantitative perfusion imaging, myocardial mapping, and Oxygenation-Sensitive Cardiac MRI. Through her work, she seeks to better understand the pathophysiology of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and improve diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
Prior to starting her PhD, Julia contributed to research on MRI imaging of atrial fibrosis in patients with atrial fibrillation as part of her medical studies. She further honed her research capabilities during a scientific internship at McGill University Hospital, where she focused on OS-CMR in patients with INOCA.
