Olushola Ogunleye, MD, MPH, is a physician and clinical researcher specializing in advanced heart failure, transplant cardiology, and cardiovascular outcomes. He is currently a Fellow in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he provides care for patients with complex heart failure in both inpatient and outpatient settings, performs diagnostic cardiac procedures, and contributes to quality improvement and research initiatives aimed at improving cardiovascular health.
Dr. Ogunleye earned his medical degree from Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria, followed by a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology with high distinction from Liberty University. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and previously served as a hospitalist at Hartford Hospital, where he led patient care teams and engaged in research addressing health inequities and cardiovascular disease management. His earlier career includes extensive experience in epidemiology with the Virginia Department of Health, where he contributed to chronic disease surveillance and evaluation of public health interventions.
An accomplished academic, Dr. Ogunleye has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented at national and international conferences. He has received multiple awards for research excellence, teaching, and leadership, including recognition for his contributions to cardiovascular medicine and public health. Deeply committed to mentorship, diversity in medicine, and community health, he also remains active as a peer reviewer and volunteer in faith-based and public health outreach initiatives.
