Oakdale, Pennsylvania, United States
Francis Ezekwueme, MD, is an Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellow at Allegheny General Hospital, specializing in cardiac MRI and CT. His work focuses on how precision imaging can improve early diagnosis, guide complex cardiovascular care, and narrow long-standing outcome gaps across diverse patient populations.
He previously served as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at UPMC McKeesport, where he led clinical teams, taught residents, and developed quality-improvement projects, including a cardiac rehabilitation initiative that strengthened early referrals and reduced preventable readmissions.
Dr Ezekwueme’s research spans congenital heart disease imaging and MRI strain analysis. He has presented his work at national conferences and collaborates closely with mentors across AGH, UPMC, and partner institutions nationwide.
He is a committed advocate for cardiovascular health equity. He serves on the Pennsylvania Medical Society Health Equity and Diversity Task Force and represents the Pennsylvania Chapter of the ACC at federal legislative meetings, focusing on improving access to guideline-directed care and addressing social determinants of health.
His long-term goal is to integrate advanced imaging, outcomes research, and advocacy to improve cardiovascular care for underserved communities while contributing to innovations that advance the field of cardiac imaging.
