Dr. Guilherme Henrique Muller is a Brazilian cardiologist specializing in advanced cardiovascular imaging. He completed his medical degree at the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) in Rio Grande do Sul, where he developed an early interest in cardiovascular physiology and non-invasive imaging techniques. Driven by a passion for understanding the heart in both its structural and functional complexity, he pursued residency training in Cardiology at the Institute of Cardiology of Rio Grande do Sul (IC-FUC), one of Brazil’s most respected cardiology centers.
During his cardiology training, Dr. Muller gained broad clinical experience in the management of cardiovascular diseases and began to cultivate a focused interest in cardiac imaging, particularly in its role in diagnosis, risk assessment, and therapeutic decision-making. His exposure to complex congenital and acquired cardiac conditions strengthened his commitment to subspecialize in this rapidly evolving field.
Dr. Muller is currently in his second year of a dedicated Fellowship in Cardiovascular Imaging at Hospital Moinhos de Vento, in Porto Alegre, under the mentorship of nationally recognized leaders in the field. His fellowship includes intensive training in cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) and coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA), along with multimodality interpretation and integration of imaging findings in clinical practice. Throughout his training, he has developed expertise in advanced CMR techniques, quantitative stress analysis, tissue characterization, and congenital heart disease imaging.
His clinical interests include the use of CMR in cardiomyopathies, ischemic heart disease, valvular disorders, and inflammatory conditions, as well as the expansion of cardiac CT for coronary artery disease assessment and structural heart evaluation. He is also engaged in educational initiatives aimed at improving imaging quality, workflow optimization, and structured reporting practices.
Dr. Muller is passionate about combining clinical reasoning with state-of-the-art imaging to enhance diagnostic accuracy and patient care. He has participated in scientific discussions, institutional research activities, and multidisciplinary case meetings, contributing to the dissemination of cardiovascular imaging knowledge within his institution.
He continues to pursue academic growth through conferences, courses, and collaboration with experts in the field. His ongoing goal is to advance the use of CMR and cardiac CT in Brazil, promoting their integration into evidence-based clinical decision pathways and expanding access to high-quality cardiac imaging.
