Dr. Elizabeth Flerlage, DO, MS, is a board-certified pediatrician and current Chief Pediatric Cardiology Fellow at Advocate Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois. She completed her pediatric residency at Connecticut Children's Hospital, affiliated with the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Dr. Flerlage’s clinical and research interests focus on advancing care for children with congenital heart disease through innovative imaging techniques. Her current research investigates markers of normalization of left ventricular function and size in pediatric patients with aortic valve regurgitation. She is also committed to improving perinatal detection of congenital heart disease, building on prior work in prenatal risk stratification for fetuses with suspected coarctation of the aorta. In July 2026, Dr. Flerlage will begin an advanced fellowship in non-invasive cardiac imaging at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. Her long-term goal is to integrate advanced imaging modalities into clinical practice to optimize outcomes for pediatric patients with complex cardiac conditions.
