Dr. Mahi Ashwath is a member of the inaugural cohort of the SCMR. She is the Past President of the Iowa Chapter of the ACC and is currently a Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine and Radiology, Multimodality Imaging Director, and the Inaugural Reuben Jacobs Endowed Chair at the University of Texas San Antonio. Prior to her current position, she served as a Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine and Radiology, Program Director for the Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship, and Director of Cardiac MRI at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Dr. Ashwath began her medical training at Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India, and completed fellowships in Cardiology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and in Cardiac MRI at Duke Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Center in Durham, North Carolina. She is passionate about Cardiac Imaging, Cardio Oncology, Education, Leadership, and Mentorship, as well as encouraging diversity. She has presented and published extensively on these topics and is actively involved with the American College of Cardiology, Society of Cardiac Magnetic Resonance, Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, and American Society of Echocardiography.
