Dr. Pranav Bhagirath is a cardiac electrophysiologist and translational scientist whose work integrates cardiac MRI, CT, and computational modelling to personalize therapy for ventricular tachycardia. His research bridges imaging, electrophysiology, and digital simulations to create patient-specific “digital twins” of the heart that enable mechanism-based risk prediction and ablation planning.
He is currently undertaking an advanced fellowship in complex VT ablation at Hospital Clínic Barcelona under Dr. Ivo Roca-Luque and Dr. Andreu Porta-Sánchez, supported by an EHRA Training Fellowship grant. His research was recently awarded the Dutch Heart Foundation Senior Clinical Scientist (Dekker) Grant, funding the ASCEND-VT project - an initiative to develop and validate non-invasive digital electrophysiology models for individualized ablation guidance.
Dr. Bhagirath trained in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology at Amsterdam UMC, where he contributed to the interventional CMR program and early translation of image-guided ablation workflows.
He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in Circulation: Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology, Heart Rhythm, and Europace, and collaborates internationally to advance precision arrhythmia care through imaging-driven modeling and multidisciplinary innovation.
