Dr. Shone Almeida is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of South Florida, where he specializes in advanced cardiac imaging. After completing medical school and internal medicine residency at UCLA, he pursued a cardiovascular diseases fellowship at UC San Diego, followed by dedicated training in multimodality imaging. A recognized leader in the field, Dr. Almeida serves on the Education Committee of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and was selected for its prestigious Future Leaders Program. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and frequently presents at national conferences.
At USF-Tampa General Hospital, he directs both the Cardiac CT program and the Cardiometabolic Program, integrating cutting-edge imaging and artificial intelligence to enable early detection and precision prevention of cardiovascular disease.
