Ana G. Almeida is Associate Professor with Habillitation Degree of Cardiology in the Faculty of Medicine of Lisbon University. She is also Consultant Senior of Cardiology of the University Hospital Santa Maria/ULSSM, connected to the University of Lisbon on the Academic Center of Lisbon University. Her maisn interestes and responsabilties include cardiovascular Imaging, including CMR, cardiac CT and echocardiography. She has been responsible for post-graduate and pre-graduate courses on cardiac imaging. She is the Chair of Cardiac CMR at Bioimaging Unit at the Faculty of Medicine of Lisbon University.
She has been practicing CMR for more than 20 years, has a CMR European Certification Level 3 and a Cardiac CT European Certification Level 3 from the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging, ESC.
She has been a member of the EuroCMR Nucleus of the Working Group CMR ESC from 2007-2011. From 2019-2015 she was a member of the CMR certification board of the EACVI, from 2015-18 Co-Chair of this board and a board member currently . She was elected for the EACVI Board (ESC) as Councillor for CMR for 2018-2020 and 2020-2022, being also a member of the Education and Value Based Healthcare and from the Subcommittee of Scientific Documents. At the EACVI she is currently co-chair of the Women CV imaging and of the Special Interests Groups Committee and a member of the IRT Committee. She is an Associated Editor for Imaging at the European Heart Journal Open, Associate Editor for EHJ Cardiovascular Imaging, Deputy Editor of the EHJ Imaging Methods and Practice, Associate Editor of Echocardiography Journal, Associate Editor for Imaging of the Portuguese Journal of Cardiology.
She has 180 full indexed publications and more than 300 invited speaker activities.
